Eda feigns being happy for him but when King also says he has something important to tell Eda, but she tells him to inform her later, as she is too afraid to hear it. Outside of her romantic interest, “Eda’s Requiem” brought Eda to a point in her character arc that she’s been avoiding for some time. Soon, Luz will return to the human world and King is searching for his father. It’s quite a nuanced story while dealing with very the very commonly found family trope. The episode opens with her coming to terms that she’s neither of their birth mother making her run from her responsibility to them. In season two, Kikimora shows more of her ruthless side as she uses her dragon in an attempt to murder Hunter and take credit for his mission of retrieving palismen.
Eda Clawthorne (The Owl House)
Besides the portal, Eda also scavenges for human garbage from beached trash slugs, much to Luz's disgust. Her apprentice is hoping to read ancient scrolls or mix potions, but Eda is not interested, as these activities remind her of magic school. Eda claims to have dropped out of school, as in her opinion, magic is supposed to be wild and unpredictable. She helps Luz find a slime ball and advises her apprentice to use it wisely. Luz opts to return to the Owl House, leaving all the human garbage for Eda to collect. After collecting the human garbage, Eda and King get into an argument over who is the better teacher.
Characters
While raising him, she unintentionally convinced him he was the King of Demons. Upon Luz's return, King and Eda reunite with her and aid her in befriending the Collector and destroying Belos once and for all. In the epilogue, King's developing Titan powers allow him to create a new glyph system, which he begins to teach Luz.
How the Cat King in ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ captures a familiar queer dynamic
In their youth, Eda looked up to her older sister who displayed magnificent magical powers and worked hard to be better at it. Over time, it is heavily implied that Eda's powers became greater than Lilith's, and she developed the urge to learn more her own way; making her disruptive and rebellious against authority. This resulted in her earning a reputation while attending Hexside School of Magic and Demonics and forever leaving an imprint on Principal Bump. When the Emperor's Coven began searching for those to join them, Eda and Lilith expressed interest. Unbeknownst to Eda, Lilith feared that she was far more powerful than her and in a bout of jealousy, cursed her in her sleep.

On the day of the Gland Prix, King once again tries to tell Eda something, but she tells him to inform her after the race ends. However, the raid was a trap set up by Head Witches Darius Deamonne and Eberwolf, and with three of the BATs captured, Eda and Raine are forced to hide. The two witches manage to hide and distract their pursuers long enough for Raine to set up a plan; the Day of Unity requires all nine Head Witches, and Raine proposes that they take out both Eberwolf and Darius to impede Emperor Belos' plans.
Raine then confesses that Belos' plans are a lot more dangerous than they let on, and that he is preparing some big spell for the Day of Unity, but he cannot do it without every head witch. Raine suggests they take out Darius and Eberwolf using Eda's cursed magic. Darius and Eberwolf soon discover that they have been following Eda's boots, which kick mud onto Darius' clothes, and the two return in a rage. Darius turns into a raging abomination monster while Eberwolf goes feral and summons a giant ratworm.

More and more, it seems like Belos’ kingdom is crumbling from the inside which makes him a more desperate character. And desperate characters tend to be the most terrifying because they have nothing left to lose. We’re introduced to Raine Whispers who is not only the head of the Bard Coven but also is the love interest for Eda.
Willow Park
Lilith uses her magic to share the curse with her, slightly restoring her to normal. Eda realizes that her and Lilith's powers have diminished, now knows that she will relearn her magic, now that she is closer to Luz. Eda sneaked into the room holding King's crown in the Conformatorium with Luz and King. Before they can escape, Warden Wrath comes up from behind Eda and beheads her. Instead of arresting her, he decides to ask her out, saying he finds her alluring.
Making peace with the beast
To make matters even worse, Eda realizes that the covention's mystery guest is none other than her older sister and the current leader of the Emperor's Coven, Lilith. The two sisters cross paths shortly after the event, much to Eda's displeasure. Lilith does not hesitate to criticize Eda's life choices of being a covenless fugitive, while on the other hand, she is mentoring the next generation of powerful witches. Eda tells her about her own student, Luz, and bets she is better than her students.
One of Eda's spells backfire due to her weakened magic, causing apple blood to splatter all over her. Tasked with being one of the adult chaperones for Grom, Eda and King prepare for the event by dressing up as sharply as they can. When Luz reveals that she wants to take Amity's place as Grom Queen, Eda and King are critical, and she adds that Luz is too fragile to handle something like Grom. Though King believes that Eda might've been too harsh on her apprentice, she states that facing Grom is like facing one's worst fear. Luz ignores Eda's advice and continues her plan to face Grom in Amity's place.
Despite this, she still said goodbye to her sister and left on good terms. Ever since the portal's destruction, Luz has been trying to find ways to make a new portal in hopes to return to the Human Realm; she seeks her mentor's advice, but Eda has no clue, stating that it was already pretty old when she discovered it thirty years ago. After helping Lilith with some elixir, Eda tells her apprentice that she simply found the portal door buried in the dirt and has been using it to hide from someone. That someone is her mother, Gwendolyn Clawthorne, who appears at the Owl House with another supposed cure for the curse.
